Hi everyone and happy long weekend Monday.
It’s Liz from the Rose Centre here with Day 4 of our 7 day video countdown.
Each day, one of us from the Rose Centre is going to do a video blog
and give you a little information about our Grow the Rose Campaign which is drawing to a close this week,
as well as our website launch party which is happening on July 7th.
As of today, the Grow the Rose fundraising campaign has raised $3,310 which is 66% of our goal.
While I think it’s really awesome that we’ve reached 66% of our goal, I’d really love to see it be 100!
So if you know anyone who hasn’t donated, or if you yourself haven’t donated
and you have a bit of extra money, go to www.therosecentre.ca and click our donate now link,
which will take you through a bunch of steps that will allow you donate money to the Rose Centre, and to our Grow the Rose campaign.
The reason that I’m involved with the Rose Centre, and the reason I’m really excited about the Grow the Rose Campaign,
is that I grew up in a really small town where there wasn’t really anybody else with a disability around.
So I didn’t really have the opportunity to discuss with anyone the problems
with dating and relationships and just navigating life as a person with a disability.
So having the Rose Centre around where we can meet and have little information sessions and discussions
on different issues is just really amazing for me, because I never before had that opportunity
and I know there are lots and lots of other people who have never really gotten the chance to meet and talk with other people with disabilities.
So I think it’s really important for us to raise the money that we need to continue having these awesome events.
So that’s my little bit about why I love the Rose Centre and why I’m involved with it.
Just a little bit about our website launch party, which is taking place on Saturday, July 7th,
which would be this coming Saturday.
It’s going to be at the Boston pizza at Yonge and Eglington.
We’re going to have a little bit of a presentation,
we’re going to have some snacks, and just some good fun people to hang out with,
and get to know a bit about the Rose Centre if you’re not familiar with us already.
So if you want to come on by, please come and see us-
it’d be great to meet new people, and meet people from our Facebook and Twitter that we haven’t actually met in person yet.
So yep, that is our day 4 video blog, and if you want anymore information,
the website is www.therosecentre.ca. Have a great day!
