To upload a recording to SOM you must give a title and description.
If you are a Pro user then you have the option of password protecting a screencast.
You should set the language of the screencast or make sure the default is correct
If you'd like to add notes which show up at the bottom of a screencast you can do so by clicking on the "Add Notes..." link as shown here.
This will add a note which looks like this.
If you'd like to add text captions to a screencast you can do so by clicking on the "Add Captions File..." link and adding a text file with the captions as show in this example file.
