Two clean energy projects are expected to bring hundreds of jobs to Nevada. The
projects were announced just minutes ago by Democrats Harry Reid and Shelley Berkley.
Senator Harry Reid and congresswoman Shelley Berkley say the state has
secured a loan from the department of energy and that money will be used
to build a new geothermal plant which will create clean power for about eighty-eight
thousand homes. The project will also create about three hundred jobs. Ormat Nevada,
which is based right here in Reno, is expected to bring one hundred twenty-one

counties. And the solar developer FRV
has plans to build a twenty megawatt solar plant near North Las Vegas. In
all, the projects are expected to create more than six-hundred jobs during
construction. They will help bring the Silver State one step closer to energy
independence.
