Tara: We're here at CES 2012, and right now we're looking at AKG's K 495 NC headphones.
Yes, these are, Tara, these are our new noise canceling headphones from AKG. Very excited
about these. These are going to be launching very, very shortly here, within the next couple
weeks. The 495 headphones are a new, premium noise canceling solution.
One of the things that you'll first notice is that they're very elegant. We're now using
brushed aluminum, so actually all metal parts. A lot of headphones actually are mostly made
of plastic. So we actually give you a much higher end look and feel. This is actually
leather on the outside here, of the pad.
What's cool about these noise canceling headphones is that the actual noise cancellation is actually
built into the cup. So you actually turn the noise canceling mic on or off right by turning
the ear cup. Which is really, really neat; very elegant solution. These have tremendous
sound, and they are very comfortable, very soft pad. And what also makes these unique
is, in terms of the noise canceling feature, the microphone for them is actually built
inside the cup. So it's actually taking the measurements to do the noise cancellation
actually at your ear. Rather than outside the cup, which give you a much better, much
more natural sounding noise cancellation. It gives you a better experience.
When you take these on the road, they also fold up. So they come with a very nice, elegant
case. They come with airline adapters, everything you need on the road. And they fold up very,
very small.
And one other really cool thing about these, that's great, that I think is, is that, in
case the battery goes out and the battery discharges, and let's say your on a long flight,
16 hours or whatever, the battery goes out. These headphones still work. A lot of noise
canceling headphones, when the battery dies, so does the headphone.
So these will give you great AKG sound quality all the time. So these are the K 495 headphones.
We're very excited about.
