Sarah Jessica Parker returns, Kitty shows Ryder her softer side, and McKinley experiences
a Beyonce-worthy power outage. I'm Alex if you haven't seen last night's Glee "Lights
Out," this is your official spoiler alert! For all you American Idol fans out there,
if you blinked you might have missed her, but Jessica Sanchez made her lightning-quick
debut appearance when Schue decides to go on a spy mission to size up McKinley's competition.
Damn that Schuester is sneaky. How is he everywhere?! How does he have TIME to follow everyone everywhere?
Maybe he's the catfish!! Just kidding! Seriously though. Ryder still
won't let his imaginary girlfriend go... because this whole internet relationship is "working"
for him, apparently. I want to be happy for him, but I think we all know this isn't going
to end well. I REALLY hope Glee wraps up this storyline ASAP, because let's face it - Ryder's
no Nev Schulman and he's not going to solve this catfish mystery on his own anytime soon.
First a school shooting, now a power outage? I don't care what caused it, McKinley has
evolved from the most irritatingly happy high school on earth to the scariest place on earth
in the matter of 2 weeks. Hasn't McKinley been through enough lately? The good news
is, it leads to the first semi-decent Glee club assignment in months: "Unplugged."
Well, looks like we found Sue! And she's not just busy channeling Miss Hannigan in the
Annie revival on Broadway, she's off at 23 Hour Fitness directing a sweaty Blaine rendition
of the Call On Me music video. Best thing ever. If I could pelvic thrust on-camera right
now without getting fired, I'd do it. I'm that excited about it.
And then things get really real. Seriously? Ryder confesses that he got molested as a
child by his babysitter and no one feels sorry for him? For once, I agree with Schue.. this
is not something to high-five about. I mean.. he never said she was a HOT babysitter?
Back in New York, Kurt has recruited his roomies to help with his intern duties at the New
York City Ballet Gala. Of course Santana hits it off with Isabelle, because Santana is fabulous,
and Kurt and Rachel are just being haters. So what if Santana is a cage dancer? So WHAT
if she works at Coyote Ugly? If you've SEEN Coyote Ugly -- and Kurt can't even pretend
like he hasn't -- it ends with all her dreams coming true!!!
All I can say is, thank GOD Mercedes is coming back for Stevie Wonder week, because this
episode was kind of a snooze in the soundtrack department. But what should the New Directions
bust out for Regionals? Have your catfish predictions changed after this episode? I
think Kitty is too obvious at this point, right? Let me know your thoughts in the comments
and check back with me next week to talk more GLEE!
