under normal circumstances I can't stand
monkeys but when it comes to japanese people they really know how to make
a creature look cute just because on the eyes
so this week's tutorials going to be something kawaii. for those of you who
are noobs and don't know what kawaii means
it just means cute in Japanese. so you guys are going to make a cute pair
of monkey and banana earrings. now before we started tutorial, I wanted to let you know
that Montreal Comic Con
is this Friday Saturday Sunday so if you guys are in Montreal
and at comic-con I will definitely be there on Saturday and I'm going to
because cosplaying as female Mario.
I'm probably going to upload some videos about that next week
those if you'll have me on Instagram or Twitter you'll see that I posted some
pictures of the process
I was making the costume with a friend's mom
so if you are at Montreal Comic Con, come say hello
I'll be giving away some stuff over there too. now let's get started
here's what you will need for today. brown. beige. yellow
rounded and pointy tools. a blade. two posts and studs (a pair of earrings)
white black and red paint. and of course a good glue
the first thing you're going to do, take a small piece of brown clay
and roll it into a small oval ball. not too oval and not to circle
like so. next take your brown clay again
and make a longer oval for the body. it should be about this
length here. now again take your brown clay
and you're going to make 4 little snakes
for the arms and the legs. so the arms are a little smaller
and the legs are a little bigger . don't worry about the tips for now. we'll get
to that. just make them completely
brown. Voila! now in order to do the tips,
for the hands and the legs, take small pieces beige clay
flatten it between your fingers. take your brown
and then wrap the beige around the bottom part
like this, now take your fingers
and start twirling it until it becomes one piece
voila
to make the same thing for the other three. Tada!
now, the first thing we're going to do, is assemble the body and the legs.
take each leg and place it on each side of the bottom part of the body. like so
and do it for both sides. once it's there, press them. and secured in the
back with your pointy tool to make sure it stays there.
once the legs are in place
take the arms, place them where the head would be. like so
and push down. voila! now time to assemble the head
just put it on top of the arms and push down, and then smooth it
in the back
there you go. now for the belly, take a small piece of beige clay
flatten it out with your fingers and place it on top right here
like so
now for the ears you're going to take 2 small
round ball of brown clay, and 2 even smaller round balls
of beige clay. put your beige clay on top of your brown clay.
like so. and flatten it very slightly. don't flatten it too much
like so. now do the same thing with the other side
there we go. 2 cute little ears. now placed them each side
of the monkey's head
now once you have this shape feel free to play around with the arms and the
legs
shape them however way you want. I'm going to make the legs go upwards
like they're hooking up. and for the arms I'm just going to make one
waving
up and the other one kind of just going down. like so
now for the face, flatten out a piece of beige clay
this thickness should do, and cut out a kind of M shape
without any kind of crevices
and place it on top. if you look here, it has the
outline of an M, and the bottom is flat
so that's the shape you need to cut out. once you have this shape
use your fingers to make the transitions smoother
there you go. now place it on the face
voila
now for the last part of the monkey, we need to make the tail, which is also the part
that's going to hook onto years
for the that, you're going to take a brown piece of clay
and roll it out into a thin snake. When you roll it out, keep a thick piece
up here. and take your post, push your post down on this part
here. like so. now wrap the clay
around the post. like so
now take your monkey, and your tail, and flatten the tail
in the back of the monkey with your pointy tool.
feel free to take your fingers and smooth out
any of the parts in the back that makes it look uneven
that way, you have a completely smooth back part
there you go, so the monkey is done. now remember the length
of the tail depends on you and how big this part of the post is.
mine is a surgical steel so too little bigger
so that's why this part here is larger. at this point, if you'd like to make the
stud
a continuation of the front part
all you have to do is pretty much follow the same instructions
as the tentacle earrings . just make another snake
and then put the post in there and make the swirls, as you want. but this part is
optional because
if it's not long enough people won't see it anyways. Now for
the bananas. take your yellow clay
and make five snakes out of them. once you have all five
take the tip of each one, and roll it out slightly thinner
like so. now do that with the other 4
now take each one and bend it like a crescent moon. now take your biggest 3
stick them together. now take your smallest 2 and put them in front
not take the tip and pull them together
so that they stick with each other. like so
now take your blade and cut off the excess piece. here's a little banana
bunch
now take your black paint and your pointy tool. put black dots on top
here
and at the bottom. so that they kind of look like real bananas
and then maybe a little detail here in there so that they look like they're
ripened
there you go. you have your monkey and your bananas
now bake according to package instructions. just make sure that when
you're baking your monkey
that he's facing downwards, like this. here we go. all baked.
now take your paint
draw 2 little black eyes. let those dry
take your red make a tiny nose. then you're going to make
a little mouth. take red again, draw the color on the inside. and then make
2 little pink dots for the cheeks. and once the
eyes are dry, make 2 white dots right there
so that it looks more like a kawaii Japanese monkey. Tada!
now the only thing that's left is to glue the posts in the back of the banana
and
to reinforce it behind the monkey. so just take your glue
and put it in the right place.
All done. now remember, if you have any suggestions for future tutorials
to leave them in the comment section below and share this Video
if you did not know, or haven't done it yet. add me

I will see you guys next week. Ja Mata Ne!
