Hello, I'm Shahram Forutan.
World Champion in Powerlifting.
Todays topic is about which muscles you need to strengthen
if you want to be strong at bench press.
There are three important muscles you need to benchpress.
It's your lats, triceps and shoulders.
It's important to train the back portion of your shoulders.
The front part is usually trained by many exercises automatically
but the little back portion has to be trained separately.
Triceps has to be trained separately.
Especially short triceps movements
so you have more power for the last upper part of the benchpress.
Best way is to do close grip benchpress additionally.
But do not touch your chest with the bar on this.
Just train the short upper moevement so your triceps get stronger on this.
Also you have to have strong lats.
You have to be able to push out your lats tight.
With strong lats you are strong at bench automatically.
These three muscle groups are most important
for a good success on benchpress.
