I'm Jon Snow. I anchor Channel 4 news and I deal with news, politics, foreign
affairs, science, arts, anything that comes my way.
In a hundred years time
I think we'll have no devices at all except those that are implanted in our heads.
And I think that in terms of news, current affairs, information of all sorts we'll be
retrieving it on sensors inside our,
our brains, which will be connected to the nervous circuitry of our
normal natural systems.
And we'll be able to switch them on and off
by using our own brain waves.
The most immediate advances I'd like to see are the eradication of the most
neglected tropical diseases.
Bilharzia,
river blindness, elephantiasis, trachoma.
We could do it, it just needs cash
and will.
My greatest hope for the future is that everybody will share the same
opportunity
to discover music, art, the
elements of human existence that are denied perhaps to other
biological species.
I'd like to wake up in 25 years' time and discover that humankind
has abandoned warfare,
abandoned all expenditure on defence of any kind and decided that actually peace
isn't a bad way of living.
