That is tricky. There is no one solution to emergency accommodation. Clients will come
to us before they have registered with ISS, who do provide as you probably know currently,
HKD $1200 dollars a month for a single person for accommodation. But in that period between
ISS being able to assess the client and agreeing to accommodation money with them, the client
will sometimes come to us or other organizations and say that they have nowhere to say. For
us again it will depend on how much money we have at the time and whether we can actually
pay for emergency guest house accommodation. That will really be on a case to case basis
and our priorities are families and young women. So UNHCR in the past sometimes can
provide money for accommodation, but it will really be on a case by case basis. There is
no one policy for Hong Kong, and the government is not providing money, blanket money to all
of those who are homeless. ISS if they can on occasion will again ,will look to access
accommodation for families and single females and unaccompanied minors. So these will be
our priority. There is no one sort of blanket policy or monies available that will meet
that need.
