With Adaxes you can completely automate creation and management of mailboxes in Exchange.
By establishing mailbox provisioning rules, you can define how mailbox aliases are generated
and ensure that mailboxes are created in appropriate mailbox databases. Adaxes can pick a database
with the least number of mailboxes, use round robin method, or select a database, for example,
based on the first letter of the user's last name.
Also, Adaxes can be configured to automatically adjust mailbox parameters, such as mailbox
limits, storage quotas, deleted item retention, e-mail addresses, mailflow settings,
mailbox rights, etc. For example, you can configure Adaxes to automatically grant the 'Send As'
right to Help Desk and the manager of the mailbox user, assign various policies, enable
or disable mailbox features. Creating an automation rule in Adaxes is like recording the actions
that must take place when the rule is executed. When a new user is created in Active Directory,
Adaxes will automatically create an Exchange mailbox for the user and adjust the mailbox
parameters in accordance with your policies, eliminating the need to perform these operations
manually, speeding up service delivery while reducing the risk of human error -- the primary
cause of downtime. You can define which operations are available
for users, and specify which Exchange properties users can view and modify. This level of customization
enables you to provide a simple, clear and highly intuitive interface for end users.
Frequently used actions can be launched directly from the Home page of the Web Interface.
For example, if your Help Desk often needs to set Auto-Reply message for users, you can
define a Home page action for this purpose, and configure it to allow modification of
the Automatic Replies section only. You can move even further and define
Custom Commands to automate complex Exchange tasks that require multiple steps to complete.
For example, you can create a Custom Command to perform all the necessary actions on the mailbox
of a user who got sick. The Custom Command will enable forwarding of incoming messages
to the manager of the user, place the mailbox on retention hold, set Automatic Reply message,
and update the MailTip. To insert information about the user you can use value references.
Now, when a user goes on sick leave, all one needs to do is execute the Custom Command.
Adaxes performs all the necessary actions quickly, accurately and error-free, relieving
the person in charge of carrying out such operations manually, and sparing the need
to know and follow all policies and procedures. The ability to granularly delegate permissions
for Exchange tasks is essential. For each Security Role you can explicitly define the
minimum permissions required for role users to accomplish their tasks, without providing
unnecessary access. For example, you can allow your Help Desk to only update Auto-Reply messages
and enable, disable and configure Unified Messaging services. If necessary, you can
do it even more granular, by allowing or denying access to specific fields and settings.
