NARRATOR: You can use Snap&Read to read any selectable text. If we are able to select the text --
for example, on the cover page I couldn't -- but on this first page, I may be able to select the text by just clicking it with my cursor and selecting it.
Once I do that, you can see that I have a speaker button that I can press and then it will speak that text out loud. COMPUTER: Classic Adventures. Journey to the Center of the Earth
NARRATOR: And any selectable text I can use that feature on. Simply highlight and then click the 'Speak' button.
COMPUTER: When I think about the things that happened to me, I am filled with amazement. I can hardly believe that my adventures were real.
NARRATOR: Once it's finished reading, simply click on the 'Close' button, the red 'X', and you're ready to read more.
You can use Snap&Read to read anything on your computer, including text in a word processor like Microsoft Word or in this case, I'm in WordPad.
If I select the text, I automatically get my 'Speak' icon which then I can choose and it will speak it.
COMPUTER: Isn't is good?
NARRATOR: If I'm writing, and not necessarily reading what I'm writing, sometimes it's helpful to turn that feature off.
To do that, simply click on the 'Preferences' button and go down and choose 'Turn Text Selection Off'.
Once I do that, now if I select -- let's say I select 'good' -- notice how I don't get my 'Speak' icon and now I can just go ahead and write 'Isn't it great?'
To turn it back on, I simply choose that again, and now when I select 'great' I'm automatically going to get my speaker icon which will speak it.
