Before you file a case in court,
think about whether the problem can be worked out without going to court. For instance, you might want to use mediation.
A mediator
does not tell parties how to solve their disagreement. Instead,
the mediator helps the parties talk to each other about what their problems are
and how they want to solve them.
If the parties are able to agree,
the mediator helps them make a written agreement. To learn more about
mediation and where to find a mediation center, and ten
go to the section Learn About Mediation.
The next part of this video will explain what court staff can and cannot
do to help you with your case.
