This is Ha Bui with Golf Swing Fit Tips.com, and today weíre going to go over the proper
way for you to be able to know how to do a crunch on the Bosu ball. This will help benefit
your golf game by increasing your core and abdominal strength throughout your golf swing.
So, first thingÖone of the things I would have you to set up is if you could try to
get your lower back on top of the Bosu ball, go downÖthat would be the general set up
for most people.
So when you do thatÖletís go ahead and cross your arms, keep your chin kind of tucked in,
that way your head wonít be bobbing back, wonít put too much strain in the neck. So
okay, head kind of looking forward and down a little bit, and then from there you want
to try to bring your ribcage areaÖthat line to this line, at you hip bone, those two points
together. You want to draw those ends together and when you do that, you want to try to tighten
your ab packs, each ab pack, each abdominal, as you come up, draw those two ends together,
your ribcage area and your hip. Tuck your hip bone together, then back down, so you
might feel a little pelvic tilt going on, your pelvic comes close in as your ribcage
comes in together, then back down.
So, thatís how youíre going to do crunch. Make sure you contract and flex and tighten
your abdominals, otherwise if you just kind of go through it youíre going to add more
inertia, and so, that might pull a little bit more, using more tendons and joints, so
you have to make sure youíre cautious on your neck or hurt your back. Go ahead and
slowly drop your hip down and slide down in front of the ball that puts less load up against
your trunk area, your upper back area.
So do the same type of motion, try to bring yourÖthe topÖbottom of your ribcage, this
end to this end of your hip bone area, you want to bring those two points together. You
want to lift forward and up a little bit, tighten your baubles and then drop your hip
down, and your upper-back back. Here you breathe out a little bit, and then back down. So,
just kind of pretend youíre bringing those two points together as youÖand then on cue
withÖtry to push your lower back into the Bosu ball as you come up and crunch in on
that.
So those are some of the key points in knowing how to do a crunch on the Bosu ball. This
