Let's talk about grouping in cinema 4d :)
Let's say we have many, many objects. What can we do ?
We can "Group" them with a null object.
But... what if you want to select your group in the viewoprt ? Or in other words, what if you want a locked group ?
You have to find your parent null in the object manager and select it...
Also if your group is big and unfolded, selecting it in the object manager gets harder.
Well... Lets first remove the Null object :)
Select all the object that you want to group from the object manager and click the group button.
Now how about that ?
When you click on a object in the group, the group object becomes selected.
The same applies for selecting a object in the viewport, which the first reason I started doing this plugin :)
When you unlock the group, it behaves like a normal null object.
You can also lock and unlock the group from the checkmark in the object manager.
Notice that the tweak mode movement also works.
The Explode button removes the group object. It's basicaly like "Remove Without children".
Convert to null, converts the group to a null object :)
Convert to null, converts the group to a null object :)
And now some selection and usage examples
If you drag and drop an object in to the group, it becomes part of it.
Unlocking the parent group, doesn't unlock the child groups.
but if you unlock a child, the Parent group still treats all the objects as locked.
Now the second reason I started doing this plugin.
Let's say you already made your group structure and you have some user data in you parent object.
Using the group object in that case will drive you insane :)
So... there is a solution for that also.
The Group Tag
It behaves exactly like the Group Object, but it returns you to the object with the tag.
The buttons do exactly the same, but do notice that, "Explode Group" button removes the parent object !!!
the icon next to the group tag, shows the group state, "Locked" or "Unlocked".
Thanks for watching, I hope you like my plugin. It's quite possible that it has some bugs. But it's my first plugin so... Deal with it.
