You can connect to an incoming call received on your telephone using the handset, speakerphone,
or headset. If a headset is connected to the unit, then you must press the speaker button
to answer the call. You can also set the auto answer feature to answer an incoming call
automatically. And the telephone also allows you to reject anonymous calls or calls from
specified numbers. Upon completion of this module, you will be able to answer an incoming
call on your telephone, receive a call using the auto answer feature, reject a call, reject
anonymous calls, and reject specific calls.
Here is the procedure to answer incoming calls using the handset. 1. Click the handset to
go off-hook to answer the call. 2. Click the handset to go on-hook and end the call. Click
the handset to go off-hook. Click the handset to go on-hook and end the call.
You can enable the auto answer feature on your telephone to answer an incoming call
automatically. This is also a useful feature for people who have difficulty using their
hands or fingers, or who are visually impaired. The call will be connected after a programmed
number of rings. 1. Click [AUTO ANSWER] in stand-by mode until 'Auto Answer On' appears
on the display. When auto answer is enabled, you will see the message "AUTO ANSWER" on
the display in stand-by mode. 2. When you receive a call on your telephone, it will
be connected after a programmed number of rings. Here, the call is connected after one
ring. Click the 'Speaker' button to end the call. 3. To disable auto answer, in stand-by
mode click the [AUTO ANSWER] button until 'Auto Answer Off' appears on the display.
You can enable the auto answer feature on your telephone to answer an incoming call
automatically. The call will be connected after a programmed number of rings. To auto
answer a call:
Click [AUTO ANSWER] in stand-by mode to enable the auto answer feature.Click [SP-PHONE] to
end the call. Click [AUTO ANSWER] in stand-by mode to disable the auto answer feature.
Note: When auto answer is enabled, AUTO ANS appears on the display in stand-by mode.
If you are busy and do not want to answer the call, you can press the 'Reject' soft
button to reject the call. When a call is received, the 'Reject' soft button may not
display depending on the line an incoming call is arriving on. 1. Click the 'Reject'
soft button to reject the incoming call on your telephone. When call is rejected, it
is indicated as a missed call on the display.
Click Reject to reject the incoming call on your telephone.
Note: Depending on the line an incoming call is arriving on, the Reject soft button may
not display.
The telephone has an option to let you reject anonymous calls. If somebody calls without
sending caller ID, the caller will be automatically redirected to a voice message and asked to
enter the caller ID manually, so the call will be routed to you if it is somebody that
you know. You must configure the settings for rejecting anonymous calls through the
Web user interface. You require a User name and a Password to log in to the Web user interface.
For details, consult your administrator. 1. Click the 'Telephone' tab. 2. Click [Line
1] under 'Call Control'. 3. Click the highlighted radio button to enable the 'Block Anonymous
Call' feature under 'Call Features' settings. 4. Click 'Save'. You can see the message 'Complete'
on the Web user interface screen. Now, if you receive an anonymous call on your telephone
it will get blocked.
You can set the unit to reject calls when the unit receives a call without a phone number.
To reject anonymous calls: Click the [Telephone] tab. Click [Line 1]
under 'Call Control'. Click the highlighted radio button to enable 'Block Anonymous Call'.
Click Save.
Note: Rejected phone numbers will not be stored in the incoming call log.
You can set your telephone to reject calls from up to thirty telephone numbers. The numbers
you have set for rejection will not be stored in the incoming call log. However, depending
on the line on which an incoming call is received, it may not be rejected. 1. First, click the
'Setting' soft button. 2. Here, you can use the [Up] or [Down] navigator key to select
'Call Block'. Click the [Up] navigator key to select 'Call Block'. 3. Next, click [ENTER].
4. Now, click the 'Add' soft button. 5. Click the highlighted dial keys to enter the telephone
number '103'. 6. Click the [ENTER] button. When [ENTER] is pressed, you will hear a beep
sound as a confirmation that the entered number is saved in the rejection list. To register
additional telephone numbers, press the 'Add' soft button again and repeat the steps as
explained.
You can set your telephone to reject calls from specific phone numbers. To add a number
to the rejection list: Click Setting. Click the [Up] navigator
key to select 'Call Block'. Click [ENTER]. Click Add. Click the highlighted dial keys
to enter '103'. Click [ENTER].
Note: You can store a maximum of 30 phone numbers you want to reject in the rejection
list of the unit. Rejected phone numbers will not be stored in the incoming call log. Depending
on the line an incoming call is arriving on, the call may not be rejected.
You can store a telephone number in the rejection list of the unit from the incoming call log.
1. Click the 'Call Log' soft button. 2. Here, the 'Incoming call log' is selected by default.
So, click [ENTER] to view it. 3. Click the [Down] navigator key to select the number
'101'. 4. Then, click the Save soft button. 5. You can press the [Up] or [Down] navigator
key to select 'Call Block'. Here, click the [Down] navigator key to select 'Call Block'.
6. Next, click [ENTER]. 7. To enable or disable the 'Call Block' feature, select the 'Yes'
or 'No' option using the [Up] or [Down] navigator key.Here, click the [Up] navigator key
to select 'Yes'. 8. Click [ENTER]. The selected number will be added to the rejection list.
To add a number from the incoming call log to the rejection list:
Click Call Log. Click [ENTER] to view the incoming call log list. Click the [Down] navigator
key to select the number '101'. Click Save. Click the [Down] navigator key to select 'Call
Block'. Click [ENTER]. Click the [Up] navigator key to select the option 'Yes'. Click [ENTER]
to save the selected number in the rejection list of the unit.
To add a number from the incoming call log to the rejection list:
Click Call Log. Click [ENTER] to view the incoming call log list. Click the [Down] navigator
key to select the number '101'. Click Save. Click the [Down] navigator key to select 'Call
Block'. Click [ENTER]. Click the [Up] navigator key to select the option 'Yes'. Click [ENTER]
to save the selected number in the rejection list of the unit.
You can delete a number that is stored in the call rejection list of the unit. 1. First,
click the 'Setting' soft button. 2. You can press the [Up] or [Down] navigator key to
select 'Call Block'. Here, click the [Up] navigator key to select 'Call Block'. 3. Next,
click [ENTER]. 4. Now, click the [Down] navigator key to select the phone number '101'. 5. Click
the 'Erase' soft button. 6. Click the [Up] navigator key to select the option 'Yes' to
confirm. 7. Click [ENTER]. The selected number is deleted from the rejection list.
To delete a number from the call rejection list:
Click Setting. Click the [Up] navigator key to select 'Call Block'. Click [ENTER]. Click
the [Down] navigator key to select the phone number '101'.Click Erase. Click the [Up] navigator
key to select the option 'Yes'. Click [ENTER].
