Another way to create your web application architecture is to use an AWS CloudFormation template.
In this example, we are using a CloudFormation template that exactly mirrors the resources
we created in the Getting Started Guide for AWS Web Application Hosting for Windows.
Let's create a new stack to launch our new environment using our CloudFormation template.
To create a new AWS CloudFormation stack, click on the AWS Cloudformation in the AWS Management Console.
Click Create New Stack.
Enter a stack name.
Next, click Upload a Template File,
and browse to the directory where you saved your template.
Select your template.
Click Continue.
Review your settings, and then click Create Stack.
A confirmation dialog box will appear.
Click close.
You will see your new stack listed with the status of CREATE_IN_PROGRESS.
Once your stack has been deployed, the status will change to CREATE_COMPLETE.
It will take a few minutes to create your stack.
You can hit refresh to get status updates.
You can also click the events tab to get step-by-step events as it is creating AWS resources.
Once it has created a resource, you can browse to that resource tab and view the resource.
For example, here you can see it’s created the elastic load balancer, mylb.
You can navigate to the Amazon EC2 tab, verify that you are using the US east region,
select load balancers, and here you will see your new web application load balancer
that’s been created by CloudFormation.
