We're here to share with you today some good news, really special news that we're all very
excited about.
The good news traveled fast. Jeff Korsmo shared the exciting news with the Sisters of St.
Joseph and their reaction was, to put it mildly, enthusiastic.
I'm just really excited and happy that we're bring the name St. Joseph back. It's a name
that's near and dear to our hearts and many, many of our patients and doctors and associates
throughout the area, so it's just been a great bit of news.
We are very, very happy about this one. It takes us back to our original roots, back
to 1940 when that hospital first came into being in Wichita.
The decision to modify the hospital naming conventions in Wichita happened after a review
of the current master brand architecture and it was decided we needed to reflect our heritage
and make our locations more easily discernable.
St. Joseph also is the caretaker for the Holy Family so we look at it as a caretaker for
the entire hospital system here.
I think it speaks highly to listening to employees, listening to the community and being able
to carry on the tradition and heritage of the sisters, so we're really elated.
The announcement was big news at the Mount, but was also welcome inside the hospital that
bears the statue of St. Joseph.
It was amazing, I had four or five of our employees come to my office, give me a hug.
You can tell this is really resonating about who the campus is, what it's about and how
it's represented.
