Namaste, I'm Lata Jain Welcome to Lata's Kitchen
Mathri is a very delicious and crispy snack
It can be stored and eaten for a long time
Today I'm going to make Mathri
Let's see the ingredients required for making mathri
For making this we will need
All Purpose Flour (Maida) - 250 gm
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Black Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon, coarsely ground
Carom Seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Oil - 1/2 cup
Water for making dough
Oil for frying
Lets start making mathri
Take all purpose flour in a large bowl / plate
Add all the spices into it
Mix all the spices well
Now add oil
Mix oil with the flour
Oil is mixed with the flour properly
Now we will knead it
Keep the dough hard
Add the water little at a time, kneading into a firm dough.
Dough is ready
We have used less than 1/2 cup of water to make this dough
Now make about 35 to 36 small balls out of this dough
Balls are done
Now we will roll these balls
Put a ball in the center of the rolling board
Press it a little and roll
Roll it into a circle of about 2 inch
While rolling, the center of the circle should be thin and edges should be thick
Prick the mathri in its center with a toothpick at 3-4 places of so that
they don't puff up while frying them in the oil
Similarly, roll all other balls
All the mathries are rolled
Now heat the oil in a wok / kadhai
Oil is heated, now put mathries into the oil
Fry mathries on medium low flame
Flip the mathries
Fry the mathris until both sides are a golden-brown.
Flip the mathries often while frying
Mathries are golden brown
Now turn it into a plate
Similarly fry all the mathries
Mathries are ready
These mathries taste very good with pickles
You can serve these at tea time with any pickle of your choice
or you can take it with you on a journey
Thanks for watching Mathri
