Hello, my name is Pavel Zalewski
and I'm a Member of the Civic Platform from Warsaw.
During the last period of office
I was one of the people that prompted the European Parliament to raise protest against ACTA.
The work on this agreement made it clear to me
that a change of copyright must be achieved,
coming up in the 19th Century and being entirely disconnected from today's digital reality -
it is inadequately adapted to the exchange of information of the Internet subcultures.
Together with leading experts and representatives of different associations,
for which the freedom in the digital space is important,
we presented such changes to the EU Parliament in Brussels.
They have been very well received and I'm looking forward to realize them in the coming term.
I am very pleased that the Charter of Digital Rights has been launched.
An unusual scope comes to the document, which deals with the civil liberties in the Internet.
I am very pleased that I was able to sign the Charter.
So I ask you, ladies and gentlemen,
to support the points of the Charter.
We will act together to change this laws in the upcoming period of office.
