nihaooo i'am Greg Le Geek or GLG for my buddies and you're welcome for this new JT GEEK test
with today a Sports Camera Full HD, the SJ 4000
beacuse it's good to see the products on pictures...Watching them in a video is better
So unbridle yourself and discover all our high-tech test live from Shenzhen in China.
The presentation and all the explanations, right after our openning theme video with Pangeek!
Today's Test of this SJ 4000 comes from the fact that alot of customers of our HighTech shop www.1db.fr were pointing that it has a striking resemblance with the famous GoPro.
This way in order to compare in a more explicit way for you
We'll put a GoPro Hero 3+ beside it.
Regarding the plastic pieces it's very likely to be at least inspired of the GoPro.
The SJ 4000 has a little larger build and the protection box is slightly bigger than the GoPro's.
The oppening of the GoPro is like this...
And on the SJ 4000, the maker went a bit further with putting a small locker switch on the protection box.
This give a great value to this item for all the security rason you can guess.
We can say that this Sports cam box has better finitions than the tgoPro's one.
Also you can see that it has the exact same shelfs and stands than the GoPro.
We take one shelfs from teh GoPro...
We put it under our SJ 4000 box...
And as you can see it's really the exact same screws and placement location.
OK now let's look what's in the package of our SJ 4000...
There's alot of accesories!
The cam and the waterproof safety Box of course.
Alot of straps, a back cover, and some Tyraps, some 3M stickers. a cleaning wipe.
A stand for open use...
A shelf for tripods...
This is a handle bar stand...
Some stickers for helmet and else use.
And all the different stands for all the possible use you 'll ever need!
Now let's look at the cam itself.
It's very good looking and very simple design.
the power button in front near the optical lense.
on the left side a switch + - to navigate in the menus
on top a OK button to take video or to validate choice in the menu
on the Right side 3 slots : micro HDMI, micro USB ( the same as your Android Smartphone) and micro SD card.
The battery is removable easily and has got a 900mAh capacity.
And at the back there's a 1,5" LCD screen .
Let's compare the cam's build itself with the Hero3+
slightely bigger, they are not interchangeable offcourse due to the button's position.
We also liked the front face that can be unclipped to access to the inside and also to allow you to change between colors.
Now let's start it with the front face button...
you have access to the cam sensor threw the LCD screen.
There's a very large angle of view. It's a fisheyes of 170°.
(french blablabla keyboard problem!)
soo just so you can appreciate the angle i put my fingers to the sides...
To have acces to the settings you press the front face button.
Here we are in the video mode..you press one time you switch to the photo mode...one more time you arrive to the Play mode.
And then you have acces to the setttings in which you can navigate with the side switches.
Resolution...default settings...erase option...car mode...the Fps settings...motion detection
..the sounds beeps...the automatic stop... the languages...the date... stabilisation...face detection...
Exposure...ISO settings...colors...white balance...clearnesss...video and photo quality and size...
Recording settings...HDR...cycles and loop recording.
By default the resolution is FHD so 1080p but you can put it in HD 720p or low res.
About the use as you can see it's really easy... in video mode you press the OK button and it starts and one more time and it stops.
in photo mode...
in play mode...
better than words here is a video that we did outside!
and in the meanwhile we can sum up the pros and cons of this item.
The pros ...
FHD cam, Photo resolution up to 12Mpx, the large angle of 170°. The safety Box is waterproof untill 30 metters.
the removable Battery, the micro HDMI output and the Micro USB to charge the battery.
We also liked the possibility to change the front face colors. the 1.5 inches LCD screen. We liked the battery life of 110 minutes.
We liked the compatibility with all the GoPro accessories!
And Finally we liked the price : 109.90€
Now the Cons :
We just regret that the manufacturer didn't put a fancy little remote control :) and the Wifi mode for livestream..
but the LCD screen is here to overcome this.
