Hello. I am Jordi, the Laborlab project coordinator.
In Laborlab we are creating groups of enterpreneurs.
This enterpreneurs are connecting technological and social innovation.
This is the main idea: how can we transform technological innovation into social innovation.
Here at Laborlab we have two premises: technology 'technifies' society and society can 'socialize' technology
Master & PhD students join companies and Research Centers' staff.
Then we create spaces: two-week meetings where they explore this technologies or
they look for opportunities.
The members of Laborlab are Roser Santamaria (sociologist), Anna Rigola (sociologist),
Rafa MartÃn (philologist) and Marta Beltran (social psychologist).
At Laborlab we promote the role of the enterpreneur
and we provide him or her the needed tools to start his or her innovation project.
These tools are designed jointly with the users.
One of them is the 'Knowledge Atlas', that is an alternative to the classic CV.
We could create, in spite of writing CVs, knowledge maps
to create an atlas; these maps express our cultural, social, symbolic and knowledge 'capital'.
At the same time they show which are our skills and abilities.
With this tool the dialogue with the people, in order to
know them better or see how can they contribute to a project or start a new one
will be a lot easier.
Another tool that we use are the workshops of 'InventaFeines' (creating jobs), 'InventaProjectes' (creating
projects), 'ConcretaFeines' (concreting skills and jobs),
which are 'dialogue spaces' where a few people meet
and they discuss which are the new configurations and tendencies in the environment.
These are group dynamics that help to make explicit
and generate the knowledge, and verbalize some thoughts that otherwise could be forgotten.
One of the tools we have seen we are missing
in order to boost these groups is the management of
social and personal networks: which is the social capital that every member provides to the group?
Another tool that we are developing is a methodological one: how can we structure knowledge?
This is a must for entrepreneurs.
Regarding the project evolution we have been exploring
which would be the tools, then the groups configuration and how to approach the occupation system in Catalonia.
We have been presenting some kind of thematic projects inside the occupation environment.
The future of Laborlab would drive into the sustainability and the exploitation of the knowledge
we have been generating.
For example, regarding to the promotion of the entrepreneur philosophy,
there is a lot of interest in connecting business and education.
How can we promote the entrepreneurship in the early stages of education?
Here at Laborlab we have lived some experiences
and we saw there are many possibilities in this aspect.
In the same way, this 'engineering job' we have done
creating groups of entrepreneurs that are somehow linked to companies, society, administration and universities
showed us that this is a remarkable discovery.
We are seeing that the knowledge transfer between companies and universities is not agile.
So, we at Laborlab could be the linking point between the needs of universities and companies,
administrations, projects, ...
All of these tools that we are creating and using can also be useful by themselves,
resulting in specific training courses.
