Hello and welcome to Archana's Rasoi (Kitchen)!
When we have guests over, we usually make onion/potato bhajji or cutlets. It can be boring to eat the same thing.
We are always looking for something new to make
So today I'm going to teach you how to make stuffed capsicum.
Stay tuned to Archana's Rasoi!
Let's take a look at the ingredients we will need for the stuffed capsicum.
Two capsicums. You can take more if you want.
3-4 small potatoes boiled and mashed.
1/2 cup green peas boiled.
1/4 cup paneer.
1 onion finely chopped, 1/2 tsp chaat masala, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
Salt to taste and oil for shallow frying
Now let's begin!
First, we will make the stuffing out of potatoes and the green peas.
So let's put the potato in.
I'd like to give you a tip here; when you boil the green peas, boil the water first then add the green peas.
After they are boiled, wash them under cold water and dry them so the green color of the peas is retained.
Now we will add the chopped onion.
We will add a bit of chaat masala (masala used in Indian and Pakistani cuisine)
Then add salt according to taste. Remember that chaat masala contains salt in it so we have to be careful while doing this.
Then we will add the ginger garlic paste to this.
You can also shred the ginger and garlic if you prefer to.
Now I'm going to use my hands to mix this properly.
If you think you have made too much of this filling, you can use it to stuff more capsicum.
I have only taken 2 here but this can be used for up to 6 capsicums.
I always say that every recipe has at least one other recipe hidden in it.
You can use this stuffing to make cutlets by dipping them into corn flour or maida paste and then deep fried after mixing them
with bread crumbs.
We can cut capsicum in two different ways.
We can cut it like this, take the seeds out or we can also cut it this way. So let's put our filling into this.
When we put this in the pan, we're going to cut the paneer (fresh cheese used in South Asian cuisine) and put it on the capsicum
Let's cut the paneer first.
You can shred the paneer as well. Or you can always cut it into small pieces.
Now let's put this on the pan.
First we will heat up some oil.
Put the required amount of oil.
Then put the capsicum in the pan
You can also add cheese to it. Here we have added paneer. You can also shred the paneer if you want to.
Now we will put the lid on this and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Let's take a look; looks like our stuffed capsicum is ready! Lets turn the gas off.
Now let's take it out and put it on a dish.
Steaming hot stuffed capsicum is ready to eat!
Don't eat it when it's too hot! Wait for it to cool off and then dig in.
