>> MARIELA: Here in the project center we all make ourselves available
And personally we are all available to support the efforts of the Jesuit Volunteers
that they make here in the center and in Nicaragua.
We accompany them in their activities and we support the ideas that they have and all
the energy they have to work with the people of this neighborhood.
And the volunteers trust in us, that we are always available to support them and contribute
so they will be freer and even more available to support the people.
Additionally they learn so much about awareness, the cultural awareness, the customs. They
learn so much about our culture; that there is a different world,
there is a different space, there is a people different from them.
They imagine for themselves that these people exist,
that these places, these people exist, like this one right here.
But when they are here present in the project center, then we can really share together
our dreams, we can be creative together,
we can grow together, personally, together, with their lessons and
also with ours – with our history, with our lives, with what
each person puts forth, and we are determined to be together and grow
together as brothers and sisters .
And that’s how we grow, making a community, and building a community of equals, that in
the end is what we want most… to live in a more just world, a more human
world, a world committed to peace and to justice
to love each other, to see each other as brothers and sisters, and to be all together.
