One of the very exciting things about working in food retail at Coles
is the fact that we touch and work with so many people.
So having a 100,000 people working in our team is just a phenomenal opportunity.
We thought why couldn't we share with our
team members what the opportunities are at Coles
and what messages we want them to pass on to our customers
and that's what eventually became My Coles.
I think My Coles and Office 365 can be the one-stop shop,
it can be the one portal for every need that a team member might have
or every desire a team member might have to find out more information about Coles.
We have an ambition to get all our team members out onto the shop floor.
We are investing a lot in technology to help team members access the information
they need to do their jobs in front of the customers.
My Coles adds a significant ability to that
combined with the capabilities of Office 365.
It allows us to deploy feature, function and information to our team members
in a way that they can access on the shop floor.
We have very paper-based processes,
we are saving literally hours per store in terms of reduced waste in processes.
We are helping our team members sell and serve with personality
because they are more engaged, more connected and better informed.
It would have been practically impossible using traditional IT
to have built a platform that anyone could have accessed, anywhere, with any device.
All of that comes out-of-the box with Office 365.
We've got such a fantastic opportunity to change
the way that people use technology within Coles
and use technology within retail.
The choice to go Office 365 has absolutely made this roll-out possible.
We plan to be able to allow team members to post their ideas,
have other team members build on those ideas
and really unleash the power of the 100,000 team members through better engagement,
drive customer service and ultimately better profit.
We are able to give team members an opportunity to see what's coming into store,
they can start to get excited about that,
be proud in terms of not only the business that they work for,
but the customers that walk through the door.
That will translate into a far superior customer experience.
