Hi, Katie Radcliff. I'm a Product Manager here at Best, Incorporated. Today
I'm here to talk to you about the IPC A-610 standard and certification
program. IPC is a non-for-profit industry organization that basically sets
the standards for the electronics community. It's made up of companies that
initially write the standards and the certifications bringing it to us, the
customer.
The IPC A-610 is the most widely known inspection criteria. It fits in
nicely with your current certifications such as ISO and QS quality
programs. What it is, is a tutorial guide for the acceptability criteria
for printed circuit boards. So it walks you through the three
classifications, class one, two and three, looking for target,
acceptability criteria, and defects.
The training program for the IPC 610 is here to teach people the criteria
of the standard and how to use it, how to look up the specific information
in the standard itself. We offer both CIT, Certified Trainer Program, as
well as the CIS, the Certified Applications Specialist programs here at
Best for technician level. Certifications are good for two years, and we
then therefore offer a re-certification program.
