Can PermaLip implants change with severe trauma, such as in a car crash, or
biting, or punching, any of those sort of trauma events? Well, the simple answer is
it's very, very unlikely. They are made of a very soft silicone, which conforms to your
lip, and has similar softness to your lips. There's nothing to deflate or change with
trauma. However, if you do get a laceration or a big cut on your lip, which exposed the
lip implant, there is a risk of it becoming inflamed. So that is a possibility. But generally,
we haven't noticed with any patients, who have had PermaLip implants, that they have
had any problems with trauma over the years. As I mentioned, they're solid. There's nothing
to leak out, nothing to change, and they don't change with time. If you'd like more information
about PermaLip implants, please click on the link that you find in the description, which
will take you straight through to the appropriate area on our website, which discusses lip implants.
