TROY BROSNAN: We are finally at the first World Cup here in
Fort William.
Missed out on last year's.
But just super excited.
Ever since we've got here, just been crazy excited, and
wanting to get up on the hill, and ride it.
So pretty keen to get out there and go smash it up
tomorrow in practice.
I want to see how the top is, and how rough it is, and try
and find some good lines.
And Aaron and I will try and find some sneaky ones out
there as well.
Aaron is definitely going to be a really good person to
feed off of, and get heaps of time riding behind him, and
just learn from him, really.
There's not much else I can do.
I'm still young.
So just learn as much as I can and take from it, and put it
into my race run.
AARON GWIN: I'm excited.
I think it's--
new team, new everything.
So that's exciting.
And then first world cup in like eight months,
I think, for us.
So man, it's been a lot of waiting and anticipating.
So I'm just stoked to get on the track,
and get things underway.
I won it last year.
And then I had really good races the years before, as far
as my riding, just didn't show in the results.
But I've always ridden really good here.
So I'm stoked.
Yeah, I mean, I think for me it's just taking it
one race at a time.
I'm trying not to look really too far forward, and look at
the season as a whole, or at the overall, or whatever.
We've got a long time until that really comes into play.
I just want to try to do the best I can each race.
And then wherever we end up, we end up.
Just messing with some stuff on the bike today, getting
comfortable, getting the settings dialed.
It felt like by the last run we were starting to put the
pieces together pretty good.
So I'm excited.
I just want to get on with it.
Just want to have a smooth run, and see
where we stacked up.
And so I was a bit further back than I
thought I would be.
But still all good for tomorrow.
I just need to find a little bit of time, and just be a bit
more aggressive.
I just want to have a nice, just smooth cruiser run.
But I think everybody's going fast, especially here.
A lot of these guys have been racing here lately.
So it seems like a lot of dudes are up to
speed pretty quick.
So just do the best we can tomorrow,
and see what happens.
And then move on to the next one.
But it's kind of good, kind of motivated.
I've got some work to do.
So it's a nice feeling.
TROY BROSNAN: All in all it felt smooth.
Didn't really get that much arm pump.
Just remember to breathe.
And ended up coming down in 12th.
So not sure exactly where I'll end up.
But should be top 20.
And only eight seconds off the lead so far.
So, yeah, I had a pretty smooth run.
I had a little crash at the top in one
of the loose corners.
But nothing major.
It was like side saddling my bike.
So I probably didn't lose too much time.
But just clean the stuff up for tomorrow, and do the same
sort of run.
And hope for a top 10 or better.
AARON GWIN: Didn't go exactly how I'd hoped.
But that's racing, man.
Just win some, lose some.
So we've got a little bit of work to do.
So I'm excited.
I think we got a pretty big target to aim for now.
So for me, it's good.
I've always said that bike racing is just
bike racing to me.
And I don't know if people think I'm kidding, or what.
But this stuff doesn't work me up in a bad way.
It just gets me motivated.
You never set out to come down and get 20th.
But you can only do what you can do so.
You've got to be OK with that.
So I just use it as motivation.
ANNOUNCER: Next up from Specialized
Racing, Troy Brosnan.
[CHEERING]
ANNOUNCER: Brosnan goes forth.
TROY BROSNAN: Ended up 12th.
Pretty stoked.
Had a solid run.
Not really any mistakes.
Just wanted to get down, and get to the next race, I guess.
But I improved on my qualifying, time-wise.
And just had fun, really, just going out there
wanting to come down.
And I haven't raced the world cup for almost a year.
So it's good to get that out of the way.
I was pretty nervous at the top.
And now just go on to Val di Sole, which is one of my
favorite tracks.
And I think Aaron and I are more looking forward to that
all weekend than actually racing here this weekend.
So it's got proper dirt, [INAUDIBLE]
track, and gravity fed.
