One of them is deeply connected with history - many cultures that have passed through this place.
Another reason has a more contemporary understanding associated with the cultures of different ethnics groups that could be found here.
Sofia loves Asia”, said some of my colleagues from the Initiative Committee that put forward Sofia's candidacy for European Capital of Culture.
Another argumentation corresponds with the vibrant cultural life in Sofia and its connection with local artists,
as well as famous pop stars that have passed through Sofia for the last years, and the cultural life of the backyards and socialization, which is going there.
Also, there is a practical reason for Sofia to become European Capital of Culture -
this city has the capability to meet all guests for an event of this scale.
My reason, to support Sofia in this endeavor, is more prosaic.
Sofia is my city.
It is not because this phrase has been said by Constantine the Great, the famous ancient Roman emperor.
It is not because of the meaning of the word “culture” that comes from the Latin language and means “cultivate”.
The most important argumentation is that Sofia is a city for many people
i.e. it has a big community of people who want to see this city as a European Capital of Culture in 2019.
