Hi, this is Ha Bui with GolfSwingFitTips.com, and today I’m going to perform a TPI or
a Titleist Performance Institute test. This is the seated trunk rotation test and what
you need is, if you have a dowel get a dowel, place it right on the front of your thigh
just to make sure you keep your thighs even, and then you can have another dowel or a club
to hold just to kind of help you measure, and then right on the bottom of my feet you
have two golf clubs, ninety-ninety, and then you want to turn them where they are about
forty-five angle degrees right underneath the bench, and then you want to find a bench
where you sit where your thighs or knees are about ninety degrees or your thighs kind of
parallel with the ground. I just have a mat because I’m short.
So, make sure you have a dowel right here on your leg and you want to sit up nice and
tall, you’re going to cross your arms right here and you’re going to rotate as far as
you can to one side and look at where you’re rotating without the dowel falling over. So,
we’re going to rotate, sit up nice and tall as far as you can, go slow and control as
far as you can, and then make sure you’re not moving your arms. So just keep your arms
center across your chest and then we go back to the other side, and then we’re going
to rotate as far as you can to the left, rotate, and you might feel one side tighter than the
other side and the golf club is there when you measure and you rotate, if you’re forty-five
degrees or close to or more, then that’s normal…normal range. If you’re less than
you’re limited and that’s something we can work on.
