I’m very glad to introduce to you the white ink kit that we have for the FB7600.
The white kit is an additional color for the press. It doesn’t replace any other colors that we already have.
There will still be a 6 CMYK colors.
You can see the white ink tanks looking different the color ink containers.
The reason for that is that the white ink has different properties than the color inks.
It has a heavier pigment.
As an answer to that we need to circulate the ink constantly
and we do it in two locations in the machine.
The white will enable our customers to give more to their customers and offer more applications.
If until now they could do, they could use for POP (Point of purchase) displays and light boxes
and now they can also offer window graphics.
We are using two color channels for the white to insure high level of opacity
and the highest possible productivity.
White can be printed before, after or in between CMYK layers.
On the blue media, you can see if you are printing without printing the white in advance,
you will get the colors absorbed into the media. They are not reflecting back.
But if you have a white layer before the CMYK,
the colors will pop up and you will get a vibrant image.
Another application is to print the white after the CMYK on a sticker; like static linen.
The white doesn’t have to be flat and fill all the media from behind.
It can be as a spot only on the areas where you want it to appear and to make the color pop up.
Where you are using white ink, we get very high coverage in some of the application.
For example, when customers are printing decal applications,
the ink coverage can get up to 1,000% and even beyond when you need to use five layers of ink.
A very important property of the ink to support that is flexibility.
So, with our inks, we achieved very high flexibility.
So, even when you print high coverage on such a flexible media such as static linen,
you need to fold the media
and even if you do it 180 degrees folding, the ink will not break.
This is a very important capability that we deliver with this ink to support the white ink applications.
HP Scitex is leading the analog to digital conversion.
We’ve been having tremendous success with the FB7600.
We have a very high market share of the high end presses.
We have great solutions that are appreciated by PSP’s and we’ll continue this trend of success.
