>>YAN HUANG: So what is Curdbee? Curdbee is a billing software that is
basically perfect if you are a consultant, freelancer, designer, or developer --
basically, anyone that’s offering a service-based business.
I started using it back a while ago, and it was one of my colleagues and good friends
that showed it to me. I was like wow, this is amazing, this is exactly what I need!
And no, they are not endorsing me to make this video at all.
It’s because I found it to be really helpful for me, so hopefully if you’re watching
it
and you need something to match your billing, it’ll add value to what you’re doing.
Basically, in the past, I’ve used multiple billing systems before, but
they were really geared towards Web hosting, and that was also because I ran a Web hosting
-- I still do -- business. We’ve used WHMCS.
I’ve also used systems like ModernBill and a few other ones.
But as far as a billing system that’s geared towards a service-based business,
I think Curdbee is amazing.
If you’re starting out, there’s a free version, which I think is what most people
use.
It allows you to basically create the invoices and send out to your clients,
then you can actually get a notification if they viewed it or opened it.
Also, you can tie that into a payment gateway, like Paypal or Stripe.com, which is
a credit card processor that I recommend, that I use.
Once they pay, it’s actually integrated into the invoice system, which makes it really
helpful.
What I use is the paid version, and the paid version -- that’s really affordable.
It’s $5 a month.
The crux of it is that you can download the invoices as PDFs, which is phenomenal,
especially if you want to take some to a meeting -- here’s your invoice --
and you want to look really professional.
They also allow you to private label it, so instead of yourcompanyname.curdbee.com,
you can have, for example, billing.yourcompanyname.com, and that would tie into Curdbee.
There’s a little bit of a setup there, so if you need help, I’d be more than happy
to
offer my services through my Web design and consulting company, Gray Hat Web,
to help you integrate that, as well as integrate any of the payment gateways.
But that’s if you’re using the paid version and you want to just tie everything together
and
make sure that everything is extremely tight and extremely presentable to your clients.
Oh, also, in the paid version, you’re also getting some nice graphs --
how much you’ve invoiced over each month.
There’s also some analytics data there that you can utilize as well, which
I find to be really helpful.
Again, they’re not endorsing me to make a spiel. It’s just because I use it and
I find it really helpful.
Hopefully that adds value to what you’re doing, especially if
you have a service-based business and you’re looking for an invoicing or billing system.
