Hey it's Bauer. Got a good little starter media machine
for you here. Solid start for you, if you want to build out
a media center computer. If you don't want to throw
a whole lot of money into it, this is a great one to have a look
at actually. It's not going to be a hardcore gaming machine,
or anything like that, but it will do a great job
of acting as a DVR, and using Window's Media Center,
and making it all happen for you. I would definitely...check out the specs here
they're very solid. It's the Gateway GM5639E,
it's got the Athlon 64 dual core running at 2.2 gigahertz,
two gigabytes of DDR2 RAM, it's got a 400-gigabyte hard drive
built into it, so you're going to get
plenty of space, to store all of your movies and all of your music
and all of your media center stuff. It has a 16x DVD RW drive,
it's built in, you're going to find up here, behind this DVD RW drive latch,
that's right there. Also, it does have a nice
media card reader here, it will handle just about
every single type of media card that you can throw at it.
And it's right there and easily accessible at the front.
As well at the front, you're going to find
a couple of USB ports right here, to make it very, very easy to plug in
all of your USB peripherals, as well. Now down here,
you're going to find one of those Gateway portable media drive bays,
right up here on the front. Also, you're going to find
a FireWire port, this is great for hooking up your home video camera
or your external hard drives that use FireWire.
You got a port right up there in the front. As well, for the video capture card
and the TV tuner that's built into this, you do have video-in and audio-ins
right up here on the front, as well, making it very, very easy to hook up
your various media devices from the front of the machine, so you dont have to worry
about digging around underneath the computer, I know it's a lot of fun,
digging around at ten o'clock at night, behind your computer in the dark,
trying to use a lighter to light things up, then setting your cables on fire,
not that I've done that, but you know, it's handy to have these plugs
up in the front of it. On the back, you're going to find
all of your normal components that you would find on a computer
like this. You do have both of your PS/2 ports here, you have serial port,
VGA port, parallel right here, four USB ports, another FireWire,
your ethernet is located right here, you do have 7.1 surround sound built
into this machine too. Down here is your TV tuner card,
and you've got your audio-ins, you have an S-Video out, and also
your coax is located here as well. Now it does have NTSC and ATSC tuners
built in, so you will be able to control or recieve over the air,
HD broadcasts, with this card. And up here, you can find the ports
for your IR blaster. Now this will actually allow you
to control your home media components through the computer. You can actually
control your cable box, you can control all of your various components
with this particular machine. In fact, it also comes with
an external IR blaster, which is right here,
this is an IR receiver for the remote that comes with it,
but is also acts as a blaster controller too. And what this allows you to do
is actually take this computer, put it away somewhere,
if you want to integrate it into your home theater set up,
you can actually hide the computer away, and then just have this sitting out, within sight,
so you'll be able to use the included remote, and not have
to see the computer, tucked away, in your media center,
which of course is very, very handy. The remote
does have controls for all of the media center functions.
The quick access button to Window's Media Center,
as well as all of your number controls and of your media controls, are all
right here, on this remote control. Now also on this machine,
you're going to find that it comes with a very, very nice
media centric keybaord as well, right here. It has all of your
media controls along the top, as well as quick launch buttons,
for getting the search, into internet, into the email.
Over here, on the right-hand side of the keyboard, this is actually--
or right over here, you'll find quick access buttons
to cut, paste and copy, as well. Which is really actually really, really
handy, and you don't see that on a lot of keyboards.
And on the other side, you've got great web navigation buttons,
for forward, back, for reloading and for getting to your favorites,
so that makes it really, really easy as well, and you're not seeing these
sorts of quick access buttons on a lot of keyboards.
And these are actually quick access buttons that you'll actually end up using.
So, it also has the GeForce 6150 SE integrated graphics solution
in it, so as I was saying, not a major gaming chip,
but it will be able to handle all of your HD video really, really well.
It's going to be able to handle basic 3-d games, nothing really super-advanced.
It is better than a lot of the other integrated solutions that you're going to find
out there, so it does have pretty solid graphics, but overall, this is a really,
really great starting point for a media center machine,
especially considering the extraordinarily low price that you can get this tower for.
Because, right of out of the box, it's going to be able to work really, really well
for you, but then there's also room to upgrade. If we want to take a look
at inside of the machine-- it's very easy to take apart, by the way,
just a couple thumbscrews over on the side, which I have taken off before this,
to sort of speed things up-- but take a look at the insde here,
not a whole heck of a lot going on. Down here, this is actually your
TV tuner and capture card, right here. You can see it does have
a PCI Express x16 card as well, if you want to upgrade that video card,
or upgrade the integrated graphics solution that's built into it, you can.
Your modem is located right down here, it does have a 56k modem card
with the computer, so if you would like to actually upgrade to something else,
I'm sure you could yank that, if you want to.
Over here, is your hard drive, this is a 400-gig hard drive
that's built in, and as you can see, there's plenty of room to add another
drive very quickly, and very easily, into this machine. There are
plenty of open SATA ports, as you can see, there are three
of them, right there. And very, very easy to get to,
and very close proximity to the hard drive as well.
So it's very well layed out, and also in here, you can see
that there are a couple of RAM slots available.
So plenty of room to upgrade from the two gigabytes of DDR RAM
that are built into the machine, without having to yank and throw away
any of the memory modules that are already in there.
Should be very easy to customize, and like I said, solid beginnings,
actually right out of the box, it's a solid media machine,
but it's going to be very, very easy to upgrade as well. So, if your looking
for something, you've been thinking, 'I'd like to have a media center, but
it's too expensive, or I don't want to spend all this money
on another computer, it's not worth it,'
this is inexpensive enough to make it very, very hard to say no.
So have a look at it, it's the Gateway GM5639E,
it has that Athlon 64 2.2 gigahertz dual core processor,
nice big hard drive, two gigabytes of RAM,
the integrated GeForce graphics and a TV tuner built right into it.
So, it's ready to go, to integrate into your home theater PC set up.
So go check it out, it's the Gateway GM5639E.
For more info on the Gateway GM5639E with the Althon 64 dual core processor,
two gigabytes of RAM and the 400-gigabyte hard drive,

For computertv, I'm Bauer.
