#INTRO
Hi, I'm Tom from Three. Today we'll be looking at data roaming.
This is what we call it when you use data on your phone for things like
apps, email and the internet abroad.
If you'll want to use data while you're abroad,
you'll need to make sure data roaming is switched on.
But to make sure you don't get charged for using data abroad,
make sure it's switched off.
All new Three phones come with data roaming switched off by default.
Before you go abroad, we recommend you check your data roaming settings
on your phone and in your My3 account.
I'm going to show you how to turn data roaming on and off
On your phone and in your My3 account on your computer.
To change the data roaming settings on your phone,
use our step-by-step guide online at three.co.uk/roamingsettings.
It takes you through exactly what you need to do
in order to turn data roaming on and off.
For the most flexibility while you're away, we recommend you turn data roaming
on or off on your Three phone, and leave it on in your My3 account.
But if you're absolutely sure you won't want to use data while you're abroad,
here's how to turn data roaming off in your My3 account.
Go to three.co.uk/My3 on your computer.
If you need to, register, or just log in as normal.
Click International settings.
Click Edit internet access settings.
Check the UK only box.
Then click Save.
Data roaming will now be turned off on your phone.
To turn it back on, check the UK and abroad box.
Don't forget, you'll need to have access to a computer
if you want to change your settings again.
