We thought we were going to be doing development for Palm Pilots and calculators. But it turned out, whenever our professor walked in, that we were developing iPhone application.
The iPhone application development course here at U of H is a one-of-a-kind course.
It was a totally new platform developing on the Mac and iPhone.
The learning curve was quite steep. We were charged with creating a mapping application for the University of Houston
We decided to call it UH Guide. It's not just interactive, it also can pull parking lot capacity information from the police department, updated every 30 to 40 minutes.
People can look at restaurants, they can get as the crow fly directions between two buildings.
You can get twitter feed from Dr. Khator, photos that have been submitted by students and faculty on the university through Flickr.
As well as today's weather and tomorrow's weather.
It is a free application, it's called UH Guide and it's available in the Apple app store.
