\f0\fs20 \cf0 I am Michael Costantino, I'm the sole practitioner for New Horizons Law.
I practice Family Law. Family law involves everything from adoption to domestic violence
to divorce to enforcement proceedings with both initial cases where the case is just
starting and modification cases where you have to go back and have something done. As
a small firm, I'm a sole proprietor, it allows me to have that personal flexibility, and
I'm able to do things that other maybe larger firms can't do. I set my own hours, I can
meet with people in the evening and on the weekends. When selecting an attorney I believe
there's three things someone should look for. Number one is that the attorney is knowledgable
in the laws, the procedures, and the rules in the area that is required, in this case
family law. The next thing that is very important is the attorney should be able to relate to
the client and to be able to understand the needs and goals of the client and do whatever
is possible within the confines of the law to meet those needs and goals - that's very,
very important. And lastly, and it sounds a little funny, but, the attorney shouldn't
lie to the client. And, you'll find sometimes that attorneys will oversell themselves or
try to get the client's business by fabricating a solution for them. I look my clients straight
in the eye and I'll tell them that their potential to success or not success, the avenue they
want to proceed. I think that's the best way, it's an honest relationship between you and
your client and it's the only way to go.}
