You'll want to determine the best location for your alarm panel.
The best location will be the place that's centrally in the home so it is not in
plain sight of a potential intruder,
and is in equal distance from all your alarm system accessories on location.
You'll need a wall outlet within six feet from the location of the control panel.
The unit has a backlit display so it cannot be dimmed, so a sleeping area is
not advised.
You will not need to have everyday access to the control panel if you use a
touchscreen or remote keypad.
If you are using the regular phone line, you'll need to locate the panel where
you'll be able to easily connect the RJ31 X Jack to the system.
The RJ31 X Jack, which we will cover in the appendix is a full line seizure module
which allows the panel to take over or seize the phone line,
even if another device is in use.
At the same time, if you're connecting a hardwired siren, you will also want to
locate this in an area that you can easily run your cable from the panel to
the siren.
If you were utilizing the GSM servers from LiveWatch Security, you can place the unit
anywhere in the home near an outlet as it employs our preventive crash and smash technology.
