My name is Dr Huda
I work with UNRWA
in the mobile clinic in central West Bank
We go to many places affected by Israeli occupation
where the people do not have access to medicine or treatment
When I observed the Bedouins
they said that we are coming from a hard way
Then I go with them to see from where they are coming
They have no access to transportation
And they have no access to health providers to treat them
And they have a very hard road to go to ask for help
I decided we could go to them
To do things is better than to do nothing
That is what we can help them with
I break the wall between me and the patient
That he can feel relaxed and speak about
whatever he is suffering from
I choose to be with UNRWA to be with the refugees
because I am a refugee
I know how much they are suffering
When the patient comes and she says that she is a mother of a prisoner
I feel with her because I lived the situation
When she comes and says that she lives in poverty
I feel with her because I lived in poverty
A doctor must not only be a doctor that gives medicine
He should be a human being who feels for his people
and helps in all ways
We are friends, not as doctor and patient
And her girls are my girls
Oh, my friend, my sister, my dear
The doctor is like my sister, she does everything
I have a patient, a girl, she's 12 or 13 years old
She is diabetic
and she needs to take insulin
She touched my heart
I put myself in her mother's shoes
It is very hard for this mother to keep all the time her eyes on this child
and be worried about her when she is in school
when she is outside
what she will eat and what will happen to her
My hope is that as a mobile clinic we will be well equipped
And I dream I could help everyone
And that UNRWA has a lot of funds to help them in the right way
