- The slogan is : "Protest to get there."
So it's a protest against
all the little obstacles that stand in the way to get There,
where you want to be.
On your board in the water, on the mountain...
... in the powder.
- So I am Aymeric Tonin...
I come from France.
- I'm Ruben Verges...
I come from Spain, Barcelona.
- Protest, it's... it's pretty cool to ride for this brand.
- *** yeah...
You are the image of the brand, so...
I don't know... You feel important
in that brand, and yeah,
it's super cool.
- Protest gives me the chance to travel, and do my job.
That's it.
- Here now, it's a competition in Livigno, the World Rookie Fest.
- It's a scouting event.
Basically we organise these events all around the world
to search for the next future star of snowboarding.
- And you can see the guys...
.. killing it, you know.
- In the sport of snowboarding, everybody just forgot to organise a tour for the kids.
Which was a shame. So we took the idea,
we developed it, and it worked.
- It's for less than 18's, and they do pretty good.
- For sure.
- In most of the competitions, they just award the winner with money.
What we do is invest that amount in projects and programs.
- It's good for the brand to take this image, and help. Help the little kids...
... to go big.
- We support their growth as a person, and as a rider.
- What we expect from them, if you talk about testing the clothing,
is, you know, testing it.
They ride a lot during the winter, they're on the mountain almost every day.
And they give us feedback.
- How can we do this jacket better?
We put the zipper here or on the other side?
- Yeah for sure, it's brilliant to wear good clothes.
The more technical it is, the better you are.
- Watertightness and waterproofing is really important.
Otherwise you get wet and you get cold.
- Yeah I hate the cold.
- We also develop products with them.
Like this jacket for instance, it's our new Pro Series,
which has been developed together with two or three riders.
- All like a team, you know? It's not like bosses and riders
who are separate. No - we are all together.
- If you travel a lot you see that the world is not as big as it looks.
- The centre of Europe ...?
- I'm from Rome.
- Now my centre of Europe is still my home in the Netherlands.
- Sounds strange huh?
A Roman dude organising snowboarding events worldwide.
- The geographic centre you say?
- Barcelona. Because it's where I live.
- I'm not good in geography...
- The centre of Europe, it's all of Europe. Yeah.
- I'm very lucky to live in this place. For sure.
- All the snowboard brands and surf brands are of course selling a lifestyle
which expresses freedom.
- You are free. You're feeling good and...
... You are happy?
- In the end, if we grow up I think everybody still wants to go back a little bit
to being young and careless and
not having a lot of things to worry about.
