hi everybody today i'm going to show you how to make
one of our main staples in our house on a daily basis
especially lately
if it were up to the kids they'd eat it more than once a day but
you know, sometimes you have to limit how much the kids eat one thing
so what this food is is a super easy and quick
granola the ingredients i have her
are 2 cups of almonds, 1 cup of sunflower seeds
3/4 cup of raisins or dried currants
one cup of coconut flakes
one and a half cup of and flaxseeds both goldena and brown
so the flax seeds weren't just the whole flax seeds, i had pre-ground them
in my coffee grinder. so you want to pre-grind your flax seeds
before you use them. then i also have 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
and some sea salt and sound imitation vanilla. now this is
the junkiest ingredient ...
(I recognize this) that i'm putting in this granola
but i don't want to put alcoholic vanilla in there
because i'm not cooking the alcohol away. if you have gut related issues
are any candidates use anything I see with me are also or any candida issues, you want to stay away from the alcohol so
we chose to go the less healthy route
of using the imitation vanilla.
its up to you whether you use it or not.
I just say it's okay.
so i use my food processor and I recognize that not everybody has one
if you don't have one try using your blender
it might work. so what i'm going to do first is
put the almonds in the processor
along with the raisins and i'm going to process that up until it just becomes
little chunks
okay so you can see here
the consistency at which I stopped
next i'm going to put in the rest of the ingredients
my sunflower seeds, coconut flakes
all of my flax seeds.
I love this stuff. and i'm spilling all over the place.
i'm going to put my cinnamon in there. you can put less or more of the cinnamon.
and then a couple dashes of salt.
i'm just pouring some vanilla in.
use however much vanilla you feel you want in your granola.
it does add some moisture to it. This isn't a dry granola
we keep this granola in the fridge.
otherwise the oils in the flaxseed will go bad.
because the seeds have been broken up
now i'm going to process all that together
okay and I just processed it until I got the consistency that I like.
you can do the same.
i'm going to pour this into my bowl so you can see what it looks like.
i don't know if you can tell in the video but it kind of sticks together - its a moist granola
oh it is so delicious. i can smell the vanillla and the cinnamon
and it's so yummy. now one other thing you can add into this
(if you like it to be a little sweeter)
is add 1 tbs raw honey
into the granola as its processing the second time
sxe and you have and you have to come here for an hour
so there you have it super easy super fast granola and like I said we just
keep it moist like this
and I'll show you how we
like to eat it just a second. our favorite way to eat it is
is we mix together cut up fruit
this is pineapple, apples and bananas,. you can do anyfruit mixture.
All sorts different kinds of berries.
whatever fruit conglomeration you can think of. then place the granola on top.
pour some milk or coconut milk or some kind of milk
over that
and then eat it like that.
I need to say one more thing so
two of the ingredients in here are the almonds and the sunflower seeds
i choose to soak my almonds and sunflower seeds in water
for
about 8 hours. 8-12 hours. and then i strain it
and then II dehydrate it. I like to do this because
it makes those seeds and nuts
easier on the digestive system. it's easier for the body to break that up and pull
the nutrients from it. so if you have gut related issues
you may want to consider doing that
