Hello, everyone! Chris from Excalibur Comics, Cards, and Games here again this week talking
to you about some more great comics hitting the shelves this week. Also, we are remodelling
so take a look at the pictures, as you can see, we are opening up a great space. Next
time you come in, it's gonna look like a lot different place and it looks great so be sure
to check that out, tell Chris, the owner, what you think about all that.
Now let's move on to comic books coming out this week! From DC Comics this week we have
the epilogue of Throne of Atlantis here and AquaMan #17. If you've been reading the Justice
League and the entire story that's been going on with the Throne of Atlantis involving AquaMan
and the Justice League, you're going to want to get this issue, if you aren't already,
see what the aftermath is, and see how that's gonna affect AquaMan moving forward.
Also out this week Teen Titans #17. This issue, like a couple of issues last week, is dealing
with the aftermath of the Death of the Family storyline that was going through the Batman
titles, so be sure that you pick this up to see how the Death of the Family has affected
Red Robin and what happened with him moving forward in the Teen Titans issues.
Out from Marvel Comics this week we have Guardians of the Galaxy #0.1. This is actually written
by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Steve McNiven. I wasn't sure if that was going to
happen and here we have it. This is like a prelude issue to the new Guardians of the
Galaxy comic that's coming out here in a few weeks. If you want to get this issue plan
on getting Guardians of the Galaxy. This is gonna be a must-have issue so you can get
in on the ground floor with what is going on with Guardians the Galaxy.
Also out this week Uncanny Avengers #4. We see the Red Skull taking over and also controlling
someone that's on the Uncanny Avengers team...you might want to check that out. Writing by Rick
Remender, awesome art by John Cassady, this should be on your pull list.
Also out this week Uncanny X-Men #2. After the big reveal from the first issue, I'm definitely
intrigued to see what's going on and see how that storyline is going to play out. Great
first issue, looking forward to the second issue. You should be checking this out as
well.
Out from Image Comics this week is Ravine by the creative team that brought you WitchBlade.
This is written by Steve Seijic and Ron Marz with fantastic art by Seijic. This is about
a fantasy world where a magical ravine separates the world right down the middle and the main
character loses his wife and daughter and he wants to harness the power of that magical
ravine to bring them back to life, but people don't necessarily want that to happen. So
be sure you check out this first volume of Ravine from Top Cow Studios from Image Comics.
Also out this week from Top Shelf is Nemo: Heart of Ice, written by Alan Moore with art
by Kevin O'Neill...the creative team that's brought us League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
in the past. In this particular graphic novel here follows Jenny Dakar, the daughter of
the first Nemo as she comes to terms with accepting the role of Nemo and becoming the
captain of the Nautilus and she wants to go one step further than what her father ever
did, she wants to explore Antarctica. So be sure you check out this graphic novel and
if you're a fan of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, this is a must-have book.
