Hello, and thanks for joining us for our fourth logistics video
where we will cover shipping, carpooling,
and the new drop out rule.
This year we will require all international teams
who are shipping their cars to the US,
to utilise Freeman Shipping.
They're the official shipping provider
of the George R. Brown Convention Center.
For those teams located within the United States,
we strongly encourage you to use Freeman as well.
Freeman offers competitive pricing
and will ensure that your car arrives on time
and will be in your paddock space.
They will also assist you with all the proper paperwork
for Customs and EPA
to ensure that your car does not get stuck in Customs.
International teams
that have shipped via other shipping providers in the past,
have experienced many road blocks, government issues,
and their cars have got stuck in Customs.
We are unable to assist teams with these issues
when they have not utilised Freeman.
For shipping enquiries within the United States
please contact Tanya
via the phone numbers or email address provided here.
Please contact David for international shipping enquiries
If you need to ship something prior to the event
please note that Freeman will accept crated, boxed or skidded material
beginning Monday March 4 at their warehouse.
Any freight shipped by a team to the warehouse
in advance of the event
will incur material handling charges at the expense of the team.
Please visit the SEMA website in order to access
Freeman's online service kit
and the warehouse and show site shipping addresses.
Another thing you might want to consider,
in order to save some money on your travel,
is carpooling.
We currently have 24 registered teams in Indiana,
16 in Louisiana, 11 in Wisconsin,
9 in New York, 8 in California,
and so on.
Please contact your relationship manager if you are interested
in reaching out to the teams in your area to see
if they would like to share a trailer,
a van, or a bus to the event.
Teams in Europe have even been known to rent large buses
and store their vehicles in the cargo area.
Finally, we want to make sure that all teams are aware
of the new drop out procedure.
If your plans to participate in SEMA 2013 have changed
we ask that you please notify us as soon as possible
so that we can make the appropriate adjustments.
Registered teams or vehicles that drop out after March 15
or who decide not to inform the event organisers
will not be allowed to participate the following year.
If a team registers multiple vehicles
and decides to not bring one of them after March 15
the students will not be allowed to participate the following year.
Thanks for tuning in once again.
Please keep your questions coming by sending them to us
