At the precinct, there was an ambulance parked in front of the precinct.
No one told me that was for my son. I got home hours later,
talking to their dad on the phone,
and we found out that they took my son Shabazz to the hospital
because they beat him up so bad.
They couldn't tell me why, the only thing they could say is
"Oh, we were told that your son tried to beat up three officers."
That's not...I know that's not what happened. We got to the hospital, with the lawyer,
their grandfather, their uncle, dad, myself,
and we weren't even allowed to see him.
For three days, we weren't allowed to see our son.
I finally saw him on his arraignmnet.
When I saw him, I broke down. His face was swollen, his eyes were red...
even the court officers in there couldn't believe how they'd beat him up.
