Hello! Today we final video of the voltage measurement sockets on the RAM.
Memory - DDR3
At the moment this is the last type of memory. DDR4 is not yet released.
Yes, DDR4 has already been designed, but it's not for sale.
So! At what point you need to make the measurement.
Take a multimeter and set it into a DC voltage in the range of 20 volts.
Black probe in a black hole)) Run the motherboard.
It works!
DDR3 also has 240 pins, as DDR2.
From the 1st to 120th here from the 121st and the 240th here.
On this motherboard alas is not marked where the first pin, and where the latter.
But it is not difficult to see on here this inscription.
Usually always write in place of the key voltage memory power. Here we 1.5 Volt
As I have said in a previous video, that the supply voltage DDR3 there are 1.5 volts. You see it.
And so! Where do we first pin? The first pin we as normal here.
This is an extreme lower left pin.
Then goes from the 1st to the 120th and from 121 th to 240 th.
And so! What voltage and where measure?
Supply voltage 1.5 V measure at the 170th or the same on the 51th pin.
Actually contacts on which a lot of supply voltage. But generally measured power on these contacts.
Where do they look?
170-pin I have is here. This is the second pin from the top of the cut here.
Closable and look. 1.5 Volt - everything is correct!
51-pin I have is the third from the bottom. We measure here again 1.5 V - all right!
There are a few contacts but they are all parallel and are supplied by the same voltage
So if voltage is present on one of these contacts, it will be on the others.
Everything is normal. Now, I talked about the power supply. The following discussion focuses on the reference voltage.
The reference voltage is supplied to the 1-st pin ...
... and on the 67th. We will measure on the 1st.
The reference voltage is equal to half of the worker.
We look ... 0.75 V. Everything is exactly as in the pharmacy)
Next voltage chip SPD. It is served on the 236-th pin.
236-pin I have is the 4th from the 240th. Reckon ...
... One, two, three, four. We look ... 3.4 Volt, everything is normal.
As I have said voltage SPD varies from 2 to 3 volts. We have this tension.
Finally voltage - voltage termination.
At DDR3 memory no external termination, You can see that compared with other types of Motherboard for DDR2 and DDR just
there are no chain termination.
Termination is performed in RAM.
You can see here this chain ... on a Strap RAM, this is termination elements.
So directly to contacts connector termination voltage is applied - Vtt.
Where and how measure it there should be?
If you remember from the past video termination voltage is the same half the operating voltage - 0.75 volts.
This voltage is fed to the 120 th and 240 th pin.
The benefit of their long search we do not need as 120-I have last foot and 240-I too last.
They should be 0.75 V. We look ... there ... and here too there.
They also parallel and therefore if at least one of them has a voltage it will be the second.
And so! Here everything is clear, all voltages are normal, everything everywhere is just super!
Well! That is all. It was the last Video of training materials for metering voltage RAM.
Next maybe we show where the voltage is measured at the same slots PCI, CPU voltage, north and south bridges.
This will with time. So subscribe to our feed on will be more interesting!
