The University of New Hampshire is the Granite State's
flagship public research university.
From innovative solutions for businesses
to learning opportunities for our students
that extend well beyond the classroom,
UNH inspires the state's entrepreneurs,
builds its economy, and creates the leaders of tomorrow.
I think the University of New Hampshire
does a great job with fostering student development
and leadership and with providing resources
for students to find their passion in many ways.
I IROP program is definitely very, very unique.
It really gives us UNH students a competitive edge
over the competition that we have an opportunity
to go abroad and do this summer long research project.
So I think it really puts us ahead
of a lot of other universities.
Being an inspiring veterinarian, I
thought that was amazing that I could have the dairy barn here
on campus so that we could come here and learn
about the animals.
When you come here, you just feel
like you are a college student.
We're making connections.
The IOL student advantage is better than a co-op
because we have these students working directly
with multiple companies throughout their whole career
here.
We're bringing together people and ideas.
UNH is amongst the leaders in the nation in terms
of marine science and ocean engineering.
The Marine School helps to address
the problems of the ocean and the marine world
because those problems are inherently interdisciplinary.
And so you need to bring together
people of all these different disciplines
to help solve those problems.
We test the planet's climate and the political climate.
The University of New Hampshire is really intimately involved
with about every facet of the New Hampshire Primary.
The survey center does polling that's
referred to all over the country.
And that's not just any poll, that's
the University of New Hampshire.
They know this state.
They live right in the heart of it.
We drive the economy and create opportunities.
We do, predominantly, the greatest amount of research
work for New Hampshire.
And that is providing resources and opportunities
for the many companies that are in New Hampshire.
We compete for the most demanding customers
and against very strong competitors.
And the only way we can do that is we
have to have a vibrant university system.
Universities are perfect places to build
those elements of knowledge together.
And then move them into companies
that are perfect places to create
new jobs and new economic development for the state.
Talent infrastructure is not something we build overnight.
That requires a long term commitment from everybody
involved-- the University, the employers
to the government and taxpayers.
UNH, where education is more than a matter of degree.
I feel that the experience I got here at UNH
was unlike any other that I would
have gotten anywhere else.
I grew as a person and it really shaped me
to who I am right now.
UNH has done so much for me as a student,
and they really prepared us to get a job out of graduation.
