January is now over, and it's time to start looking forward to the rest of the year. The
days are getting a little lighter and the first signs of Spring have started to appear.
The Winter months can feel long but there are always things to look forward to and feel
positive about. Simple Psychologist Dr. Chris Bundy knows that our wellbeing can affect
our physical appearance and our skin. Here are some of her top tips for combating stress
and helping to adopt a positive mental attitude. Firstly, improve your mood. Go for a brisk
10 minute walk each day to improve your mood and lift your spirits. So many of us spend
so much time chained to our desks, but it really is vital to get out at lunch time,
clear your head and put your worries into perspective. Practise makes perfect. Practise
focussing on one new positive thing per day - just be grateful the bus turns up on time
and you get a seat, for example. It's all about little steps. Forget the flaws. Don't
spend time worrying about your faults and the things you don't like about yourself.
Time spent correcting imperfections is time wasted because you're often drawing more attention
to what you believe are your flaws. And smile and take time out to laugh. It's the surest
way to help boost your mood which in turn helps alleviate stress. We hope this video's
been helpful - thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe for more from Simple.
