In this application, conditional background images driven by the types of coffee
beans being ordered in this invoice where define using simple logic statements.
When using Line Mode data, I first want to define a search area that I'm going to use
in my conditional statement to look for certain types of coffee beans being
ordered.
Then, depending on that information, I have a specific background image appear.
First let me expand my Data View window so that you can see a little bit more of the
data.
And to create a Search Area,
I highlight the desired column of data that the Search Area is going to look in.
Right-click
and choose "Define Search Area"
Name the search area. I'm going to name this "Invoice Area Search"
and click "OK".
Now to create a conditional background image
let me get back to my design area.
I select the "Conditional Image" button.
Draw a rectangle on your form where you'd like the conditional background image to appear.
The Image Properties window will automatically open up to the "Conditions" tab.
This is where you can start defining your conditions.
First I select the "Add" button to add the first condition.
The Add Condition window will appear. First I'm going to choose which type of field
I'm going to be looking for,
which is a search area,
and then choose the search area field that I just defined
which I named "Invoice Area Search".
Next I am going to select the "=" function.
And then this condition is going to be based off of "Italian Dark Roast".
So the condition that I have just defined says that if Italian Dark Roast is found
within the search area, I can now define an image that will appear when this condition 0:01:46.850,0:01:48.840 is found to be true.
So I select "OK" to accept this condition,
and then click "Image" to define the image that I'd like to appear.
I can now define the next condition in the same manner by selecting the last condition I created,
and then clicking "Add" again.
So again I am going to select "Search Area" as the field type.
Select the search area field that I created.
Select "="
And this time I want the search area to be based off of the words "French Vanilla"
click "OK"
and again I'm going to select the "Image" button to define the image that I'd like to
appear if the words "French Vanilla" are found with the search area.
Click "Open".
The last step in defining my conditions is creating an "Else" condition.
This will basically call in an image to appear if neither of the first two conditions are found true.
So I select the last condition that I created.
Click "Add"
and then select the "Final Else Condition".
Click "OK"
And then I select the default image that I'd like to appear.
So I'm going to select the Italy image. Click "Open"
Once all the conditions are complete, I click "OK" to accept the properties I just
defined.
Now, as I scroll through the data you can see the background image change depending on the
information that was found within the defined search area.
