I was
lucky enough as a small child come out to Kenya
when my mom and dad were in the film, 'Born Free'. That was 1964.
And I remember even then they were driving Land Rovers.
The Land Rover was a a star of that film just as much as the
at the lines and the human actors were.
The Born Free Foundation is a UK registered charity. We focus on wild
animal welfare
and conservation throughout the world in Africa,
Asia, Europe, the states, just about everywhere.
Land Rover's been part of the fabric of the African landscape for
more than fifty years, through the nineteen fifties with
George and Joy Adamson and Elsa; 1960s when the film Born Free was made.
1970's I actually
delivered Land Rovers up to George Adamson's camp. The eighties and nineties,
the establishment to the Born Free Foundation
and then since 2002 our long-term
relationship which is enabling us to do what we set out to do which
is to keep wildlife in the wild. I can't think of a better partner
in terms of the work that we have to do in very challenging circumstances.
All sorts of people are now talking
loudly about the need to protect wildlife and that's where
organizations like Born Free and Land Rover could come in.
Our mission is to protect wildlife, but we have to help people at the same time.
