You need to fully enjoy your life and all of its possibilities, Carol Newman can help
teach you how to nourish your body with healthy organic living keeping you beautiful inside
and out, and, now, here’s your host, Carol Newman.
Hi, I'm Carol Newman from BioGirl Health, and today I will be sharing a recipe with
you, BioGirl Health's curried delacata squash seeds, and, to start with, I’ve saved the
seeds from my squash while I was making curried soup, and so I have rinsed these off and I’ve
also dried them on paper towel, and that is so the oil will stick to them, so these are
ready to go, so I am just going to put them on my cookie sheet, and you're also going
to preheat your oven to 250°F.
I like to roast them slowly on a lower temperature, and also the reason I like to use the coconut
oil is because we like to indulge in our snacks, and the oil will make them much crispier,
and, also, your seasonings will also stick to the seeds, and so we're just going to add
a little bit of coconut oil, because I don't have a lot of seeds, so we don't want too
much oil, so I would say probably, maybe, a quarter of a teaspoon not much because you
know, once it melts, it will easily disperse through the seeds, so we just add that to
the seeds and, of course, you don't have to worry about it spreading around too much,
because it will melt and right now it's cool out and, of course, oil melts at 76°F, and
these are going to be a spicy, curried seed, so I'm adding white pepper.
You can get all the ingredients from healthy living depot.com. So I'm adding some white
pepper just sprinkle as much as you like it's you know it's more to taste not an exact science
and then I like adding tumeric. Tumeric is very good for inflammation. And so I just
sprinkle just sprinkle as much as you like, and then I'm also going to add curry you can
also add hot Peffer hot pepper flakes or you can also add a little bit of cayenne dependent
on how spicy you like them and then of course sea salt, and I only use sea salt that has
been hand mined or hand processed you can use Himalayan sea salt is also good, and then
you just mix it around just to make sure that all the seasonings are being coated on all
the seeds.
Isn't this easy? It doesn't take long at all a few minutes and it makes a delightful snack.
I put them in either a small Tupperware container. I put them either in a small Tupperware container
or you can put them in a Ziploc baggie. When I went to school, I took these with me all
the time, because I needed a snack that was healthy provided some protein and healthy
fats, and you can eat them on the go, so that's it, and now were going to bake them, and we
will be bake when the process is done.
I guess they're done. Let's pull them out of the oven. Mmm! Those smell good. So here
we have it, BioGirl Health's curried delacata squash seeds; spicy, mmm, and delightful and
indulgent. This has been Carol Newman BioGirl Health.
