Are your dogs barking? mine too, we use and abuse our feet all day long and rarely give back to
them well that's about to change
today's workshop was designed to soothe your aching feet because as the old
saying goes when your feet hurt you hurt all over
but before i start the workshop here are a few foot facts
the human foot was designed for mobility that's why it's uncomfortable
and even painful to stand for long periods of time
continuous standing can cause inflammation, rheumatism, and even
arthritis the good news is that you can strengthen your feet
to help with that we'll turn to one of my favorite poses it's called the tree pose
and today we'll focus on the roots Desiree will help me demonstrate
i'd like you to try this at home as well
first set the balance up since energy follows thought visualize your energy
drawing through the left leg
draw it through the floor you'll feel more grounded that way
from here take the right foot and bring it on the inside of the left calf
now you can keep the toe down here like Desiree here is showing now this is a great modification if you
don't feel comfortable coming onto one leg
(nice) you want to go a little deeper simply bring the foot up here you can
stop at the calf
or all the way up to the inner thigh I want to avoid the inside of the left knee
it's a little unsafe
now here the left leg presses strong and we'll draw the hands to prayer
beautiful this a beautiful pose calming
each inhale stand taller lift through the crown of the head lift through the chest on the
exhale left leg strong face soft and you can begin to press the right hip forward
slightly
now again back to the roots
pay attention the left foot
here it's active the toes are gripping the mat lightly drawing this energy
through the legs giving you more strength
beautiful job just make sure you even it out from side to side

now the tree pose strengthens the thighs calves ankles and spine it stretches the
groin and inner thighs
improves your sense of balance and reduces flat feet
in short take care of your feet and they'll take care of you!
