I was always very reticent about the idea of becoming an artist,
but at the same time was always apparently drawn to it.
There are several works in the cases.
Here we are...
let's start with this one.
Here are three works.
I always wanted to slow down the moment of taking the picture.
So, Cartier-Bresson's "decisive moment"
never really appealed to me.
I would rather stretch out the moment,
and create a time and space that could be filled.
Artexte is a documentation centre that I founded with two
friends: artist Anne Ramsen and art historian Francine Périnet.
Do you have a box here?
Yes, here's a box with my name on it.
I haven't looked at it in at least 30 years.
It's completely up to date.
Here is my latest catalogue.
And wow, here's a poster from my first exhibition.
It was a group show called Inside, at the Optica gallery.
Here are some photographs.
Oh... maybe I left them here back then.
Here's a picture of the Impérial Theatre.
I don't really have a good memory...
and many of my photographs talk about memory.
So I started to imagine "categorizing,
collecting and archiving" my things.
I make a portrait of an era and a portrait of myself,
and it also becomes a portrait of the spectators.
I like to revisit places that I've photographed.
And I guess that's also why I decided to archive these images,
these writings, and all of that.
